The information on this page was published in 2017. It explains the reasons for relocating our school.

Please note that we have completed stage 1 and our school is now operating in the Park Road buildings. Contrary to previous advice the current plan is to move to the Mitchell Road buildings in term 1, 2019.

We Are Moving

Dear parents,

Our new school address in 2019
57-77 Mitchell Road,
Alexandria NSW 2015

You may be aware from recent news reports that the NSW government is to carry out major infrastructure works on some of the state’s schools. One of the schools slated for major redevelopment is our school’s present site at Cleveland Street. As a consequence we will need to move out of there at the end of 2017.

After more than a year of searching near Surry Hills the best available new location for our school is the Alexandria Park Community School (APCS) at Alexandria, not far from where we are now.

Business As Usual

I want to reassure you that, after the move to Alexandria, we will continue to provide the very best Chinese language program for our students. All of our dedicated teachers and admin staff will be going to the new site. All of our class curriculum will remain the same as is the extracurricular activities such as the celebration of Chinese cultural festivals.

Relocating In Two Stages

The relocation is complicated by the fact that the refurbishment of the Mitchell Road campus has not been completed and we have been asked to first move to a temporary site at the Park Road campus until the Mitchell Road site is ready for us.

This means we will continue to stay in our current site at Cleveland Street until the end of the 2017 school year. In term 1 of 2018 we will reopen at the APCS Park Road campus. Towards term 4 of 2018 we will move again and settle into the permanent site at APCS Mitchell Road campus.

We are disappointed that we are required to go through this complicated changeover. Unfortunately it is something that is beyond our control. The good news is that once you have worked out the best way for your child to get to the Park Road campus there is no need to change your transport arrangements again when we go to Mitchell Road because the two campuses are inside the same APCS complex. The two sites are within a stone’s throw of each other. See maps below.

    A Helping Hand is Welcomed

There is much to do before and during the move to the new location. We would appreciate any help you can give us. Please contact the school office if you are interested. Note: to avoid interruption to classes we plan to carry out the actual move during the holidays.

I appreciate that moving the school is a significant interruption for our parents and students. If you have questions you are welcome to come to see us, email or call us.
